Affiliate Selling: Building Revenue on the Web by Greg Hemstetter and Pamela Metivier web revenues

You may have missed the first wave of making money through the Internet, but don't miss the second! Affiliate selling on the Web is one of the Web's best-kept secrets. Many have made several thousands and more a month by selling other people's products on their own Web site, without having to go through the hassle of shipping, taxes, stocking the products and customer service. How do you make money while you sleep? Read on!

Affiliate Selling is a great book for anyone who would like to cash in on the entrepreneurial wave of the Web. My first impressions of affiliate selling on the Web were those awful Web sites that blinked and blitzed - the ones where you don't know what the focus is, other than a lot of noisy, glitzy, blinking banners. Affiliate Selling describes what makes a successful site - one which is content-specific. The authors also relate several affiliate success stories, and several ways in which to build your affiliate site. You don't need to know any html in order to build one - many affiliate programs offer such options as "storefronts," where they have pre-designed templates for your convenience. This book is also a guide to what is available on the Web: what kinds of affiliate programs are out there, how to choose what is right for you and where to look. There are several kinds of affiliate programs: commissioned-based, bounty/flat-fee referral, click-through, cost per thousand impressions, incentive and multi-tiered programs. Affiliate Selling reviews each of these programs and the fine print of several, so you know exactly what you are getting yourself into, when and how you will be paid, and why you might not be paid.

Affiliate Selling answered all of my questions about affiliate programs. I learned more details about affiliate programs than I even had questions about. I'm thankful I read this book before I ventured down my affiliate career, because it saved me from dissipating my energy in all the wrong avenues. It's a good book for complete novice to a seasoned veteran. - Katharina Woodworth, Assistant Editor at The Digest
